A week ago at my 40-week exam, my midwife came into the office and greeted me. Peering sympathetically into my face, she commented "Well, you seem to be doing pretty well! At this stage in the game, I get a lot of mamas who burst into tears as soon as I walk in!"
Well, sitting in their shoes after 40 weeks, 4 days and seemingly eons of time spent germinating this dear little sprout of a boy, I don't blame them in the least. In fact, at this point, going into labor sounds far easier than having to endure the blank face of an unforseen number of days perhaps still ahead,

This weekend, I stumbled on Psalm 27:13-14, and have been trying to hold onto it as best as I can. "I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!"
